Corporate volunteering at St Leonard’s Hospice is a great way to get involved in the local community. Many companies offer Corporate Volunteering days, where employees can take paid time off to volunteer. This is not only helpful to the Hospice; volunteering has also proved to be beneficial to those volunteering, and employers who support Corporate Volunteering. It’s great for employee engagement, wellbeing, skills, retention, and teamwork. It can also be great fun!
There are lots of volunteering opportunities at St Leonard’s Hospice. We welcome both individual and groups of corporate volunteers who would like to offer their time to support us. We are able to offer both days and half days in the following areas:
What could I do?
Some of the areas you could volunteer in are:
- Donation Centre, Acomb (suitable for groups of up to 4 or individuals)
- Some of our Shops (individuals)
- Ebay (individuals)
- Gardening (individuals)
- Events support help (suitable for groups and individuals) - please see the Events Support role for details of upcoming events
Alternatively if you wanted to organise your own event to raise funds and make a donation to St Leonard's Hospice we would love to hear from you too.
How much notice do we need?
To help us ensure you get the best possible experience volunteering with us, we require at least 1 months’ notice to organise your volunteer session.
Corporate Volunteering programme development
If you would like to help shape our Corporate Volunteering programme further then please get in touch with corporate@stleonardshospice.org.uk. We’d be delighted to hear from you.
If you are interested in volunteering in another area or capacity then please do get in touch with us directly.
About the Hospice
St Leonard’s Hospice provides care and support to local people living with life-limiting illnesses and to the people they care about. We couldn’t carry out the important work we do without a committed and talented team of Volunteers and Supporters – people of all ages, and from all walks of life who help us provide care and assistance throughout the organisation as well as promoting the work of the hospice in local communities and raising crucial funds. This can be through the sale of second hand goods in our shops, or by helping out or taking part in one of our numerous Fundraising events.
